Oregon Honeymoons and Romantic Getaways

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Romantic getaways are one of the most certain things to help keep the flame alive in your relationship.  While it is possible to create special romantic moments at home, going to a new environment frees us to be more of what we want to be.  For example, when we are at home we all tend to develop patterns and ‘ruts’ and this includes the ways we interact with our loving partners.  Removing those daily patterns, and sub conscious patterns, frees us to interact at new levels.  The best way to do this is to take a getaway, preferably to a new place, doing something you may have never done before.  And, it does not necessarily have to be expensive or include a dream of a lifetime.

Think about newlywed couples on their romantic honeymoons all around the world.  They may travel to exotic locations, but most are on a slim budget and may stay in low cost hotels, or even go camping.  In addition to the newness of their relationship, often what makes their honeymoon so memorable is some small ‘something’ they have never experienced before, yet they experience it together.  It may be as simple as ordering blueberry pancakes where the blueberries are underneath the cakes, rather than on top or mixed in the batter.  Simple, delightful, memorable, new experiences continue to be the spice of life, at any age.
