The Black Locust Bonsai Makes a Nice Retirement Gift

One of the more interesting outdoor bonsai to give as a gift, especially for those looking to spend more time with their bonsai trees, is the Black Locust (robina pseudoacacia). These bonsai actually get pretty large compared to other bonsai trees, and they look very impressive once they’re grown. They’re outdoor bonsai, and they feature bark that is somewhat different from other trees. They are quite tolerant of different types of weather, and they grow fast. Unlike some bonsai, the Black Locust does flower—it will bloom with white blossoms that have a small bit of yellow in them. These fragrant blossoms will attract bees to them during the spring.
